Photo-equipment for vacation.

Many people ask me what photo equipment I take with me during my vacation. Which camera, how many cameras and lenses? Should I bring a flash, a small soft box, filters and tripods? What kind of filters ND or color?

This is a quote from Edward Weston 1927:

"The fact is that relatively few photographers ever master their medium. Instead they allow the medium to master them and go on an endless squirrel cage chase from new lens to new paper to new developer to new gadget, never staying with one piece of equipment long enough to learn its full capacities, becoming lost in a maze of technical information that is of little or no use since they don't know what to do with it."

This was written in a time where ISO 50 film was high speed film, there were no flashes, no soft boxes, no computer and no internet.

When following this quote it will make our lives easier and my bank account doesn't need to be killed in order to get the picture I want.

Last week I shot during sunset a city scape with the small Fujifilm X100F, next to me a photographer with Photo-equipment worth of 14.000 Euro. Will his picture be more iconic and unique? I don't think so.

My gear for this vacation will be two prime lenses 35 mm, 50 mm and two cameras the Nikon D810 and the Nikon F100 analogue camera.

Shot with a second hand Fujifilm camera the X100F 35 mm prime lens and a second hand tripod of 15 Euros.
